The Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021

May 17, 2021
The Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021 was promulgated on May 16, 2021. The Ordinance amends the Homeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 that provides for a Central Council of Homoeopathy to regulate homoeopathic education and practice.
Timeline for supersession and reconstitution of the Central Council: In 2018, the Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Act, 2018 was passed to supersede the Central Council of Homoeopathy. In addition, the 2018 Act required the Central Council to be reconstituted within a year of the commencement of the 2018 Act. In the interim period, the central government had to constitute a Board of Governors to exercise the powers of the Central Council. Since then the time period for reconstituting the Central Council has been increased twice (in 2019 and 2020) from one year to three years.
The Ordinance amends the Act to further increase this time period from three years to four years.
