Delhi High Court junks Mehul Choksi’s plea to preview Netflix series ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’

New Delhi, August 28: The Delhi High Court Friday junked absconding diamond merchant Mehul Choksi’s plea seeking to preview Netflix’s upcoming series titled ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’. 

The High Court held that a writ filed by Choksi was not maintainable, The Economic Times reported. Earlier this week, spooked by Netflix’s upcoming web series titled ‘Bad boy billionaires’ featuring Vijay Mallya, Subrata Roy, Harshad Mehta and his nephew Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi had petitioned the Delhi High Court seeking directions to show him the series featuring him before release. 

On Wednesday, the High Court had asked counsel for Netflix to receive instructions and explore the possibility of showing the web series to Choksi before release. Counsel for Netflix said that it was highly unlikely that the series would be shown to Choksi prior release.

During the resumed hearing on Friday, counsel for Netflix emphatically said that while it was willing to show a preview to the Court but it would not give a preview to Choksi. 

Counsel for Netflix told the Court that the first part of the web series features Choksi only for two minutes and does not show anything pertaining his trial. 

The first part of the series is slated to be released on September 2.
