Mumbai, July 2, 2021: The Bombay High Court will continue with virtual hearings till the end of this month. The decision was taken in a meeting of the administrative committee chaired by Chief Justice Dipankar Datta on Thursday.

The Benches will preside over cases on three days a week for five hours on all working days.

The committee also decided that the first and third Saturday of the month will be working days for the court wherein hearings will be conducted virtually.

Additionally, approximately 10 benches will sit on the working Saturdays to decide all pending bail and anticipatory bail applications to clear the backlog that has been of concern this pandemic.

The administrative committee was aided by the Central and State Task Force which apprised the members in the meeting of the present situation of Covid-19 cases in the state.

All the benches of Bombay High Court — Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nagpur, and Goa — are hearing matters virtually for the last two months. During this time, the courts have only been taking up cases which need to be heard urgently.
