As its first woman President (or Chief Justice) retires, UK Supreme Court to be for first time led by Scottish person
Lord Reed, 63, who took over as President (or Chief Justice) of the UK Supreme Court is the first Scottish president of the court since its creation 10 years ago. He took over from Lady Hale, its first female President, who retied as she turned 75.
Both Lady Hale and Lord Reed are known for landmark judgements that have made headlines.
