UK judge writes, performs play to throw light on ‘secret’ workings and ‘harsh’ environments at the country’s family courts

A family judge in the UK has written a play to inform people about the secret workings of family courts in the country that can have harsh implications and require more transparency.

The judge, Stephen Wildblood QC, also performs the role of the judge in the play. Family law cases in the UK are held in private – there is no independent scrutiny of what they do, which means that immense state powers are exercised effectively in secret.
