The Supreme Court on Friday, January 31, dismissed the plea filed by Pawan Gupta, one of the four death row convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya case, seeing review of its order rejecting his claim that he was a juvenile when the crime was committed.

The review plea filed earlier in the day was taken up for consideration by a bench of Justices R Banumathi, Ashok Bhushan and A S Bopanna, which rejected it.

Gupta, through his counsel A P Singh, has moved the apex court against it January 20 verdict in which it had dismissed his juvenility claim. While dismissing his plea on January 20, the top court had said there was no ground to interfere with the Delhi High Court’s order that had rejected a similar plea filed by Gupta.
